Gilkes engineers celebrate graduation after achieving Masters of Science degree

Three of our engineers have recently completed their Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Abigail Stephenson, our Senior Hydraulics Engineer, and Joe Boothroyd, an Analysis Engineer, began their journey at Gilkes through the apprenticeship program and have since advanced to key roles within our engineering department.  Felix Stoll, a Design Engineer, joined us after finishing his Bachelor's Degree at Newcastle University.

Their graduation marks the culmination of a rigorous 2-year study period while balancing full-time positions at Gilkes, showcasing their commitment and hard work.  The 2 year study programme consisted of 6 modules; Systems engineering, Advanced CAD/CAM, Renewable Energy, Nuclear Fuels & Energy Conversion, Mechanics & Actuators and Rapid Prototyping, concluding with the submission of their dissertation.

The timing couldn't be more perfect as their graduation ceremony took place the day before our annual Christmas party where they celebrated their success with colleagues and friends.

Stay tuned for upcoming blogs where each engineer will share insights into their final dissertation projects.

Unfortunately Felix was unable to attend the graduation ceremony but we have these great pictures of Abi and Joe enjoying the day!
